If you hold a CDL and operate a commercial motor vehicle as defined by 49 CFR Part 382 — as an owner operator or an employer with drivers — you must be enrolled in a random drug and alcohol testing program. Owners with fewer than 50 drivers typically join a consortium to share the cost.
Under a random program you may be selected once, not at all, or several times in a calendar year. Your LWD enrollment fee covers all random test fees — there is no extra charge each time you are selected.

Yes. 49 CFR §382.603 requires every person designated to supervise drivers to receive at least 60 minutes of training on alcohol misuse and 60 minutes on controlled substance use. LWD offers the course online or at monthly seminars in Irwindale, CA.
