Panel/Dip Testing Procedure
On-site and in-home drug screening devices are easy to use — five simple steps to accurate results in 5 minutes.
Remove device from foil pouch
Tear open the foil pouch and remove the Panel/Dip device.
Pull the plastic cap
Pull the plastic cap from the device to reveal the sample pads.
Dip the sample pads
Dip the revealed sample pads into the urine sample for a minimum of 15–30 seconds, until urine is seen wicking into the reading zone. Make sure each pad is dipped to the level of the wavy lines without touching the plastic card to the urine.
Replace the cap
Remove the device from the urine and replace the plastic cap.
Read results at 5 minutes
Do not interpret results after 4 hours, as false results may occur. Any line at all in the test zone is interpreted as negative.
Interpreting the results
| Reading | Test zone line | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Negative | A line appears in both control and test zones | No drug detected above the cutoff — any line, however faint, counts |
| Presumptive positive | A line appears in the control zone only | Confirm with an alternative method (e.g., GC/MS) before taking action |
| Invalid | No control-zone line | Test did not run correctly — repeat with a new device |
